Persephone's Orchard: Review

Persephone's Orchard (The Chrysomelia Stories #1)
by Molly Ringle

Blurb
The Greek gods never actually existed. Did they? Sophie Darrow finds she was wrong about that assumption when she's pulled into the spirit realm, complete with an Underworld, on her first day at college. Adrian, the mysterious young man who brought her there, simply wants her to taste a pomegranate.

Soon, though she returns to her regular life, her mind begins exploding with dreams and memories of ancient times; of a love between two Greeks named Persephone and Hades. But lethal danger has always surrounded the immortals, and now that she's tainted with the Underworld's magic, that danger is drawing closer to Sophie.

My Review
On Sophie's first day of school she learns that the Greek Gods did exists and they are coming back. She finds this out because she gets taken to the spiritual realm. There she meets Adrian who tries to explain where she is and what is going on. Leary at first back at college she begins to have dreams of past lives. Past lives that she once lived. Adrian knows all about her dreams because he was there with her. She begins to dream of Persephone and Hades and soon realizes she was Persephone. Now she is trying to dig up all her past lives so she can see what happened. She is also trying to keep her meetings with Adrian secret because someone doesn't want the gods to come back. They don't believe anyone should be immortal. They will use Sophie to get to the other awakened gods is they get the chance. Now her life is in danger and she refuses to quit digging.

I love books with mythology in them and I have to say this maybe one of my favorite's I have read. I love how the author approaches the gods beginnings and how they came to be gods. You also get the chance to see how the author does the love story of Persephone and Hades. I like it so much. It seems all their lives someone is always tearing them apart. Sophie and Adrian are so wonderful and the others who have awakened as well. I enjoyed them all so much. There is all kinds of danger around and you aren't sure who is behind it all.If you enjoy mythology in your books you must try this one. I immediately looked for the next one but it doesn't come out for a few more days and I will be getting it as soon as it is live.

5 out of 5 Stars
